Independence Hall sits across from the Liberty Bell Pavilion in the Independence National Historical Park. This is where the Declaration of Independence was signed and where George Washington was chosen as Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army. The highlight is Assembly Hall, where the Second Continental Congress met behind closed doors to discuss independence from the British. It was also where the Continental Congress met again 11 years later and wrote the United States Constitution. Independence Hall originally served as the State House of the Colony of Pennsylvania and is best known as the place where the Declaration of Independence was adopted by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776. If you're wondering where to start, begin with our list of top tourist attractions in Philadelphia. Just south of that lies the museum district, including the Franklin Institute of Science Museum and the Academy of Natural Sciences. To the west, along the Schuylkill River, lies Fairmount Park, a vast belt of green containing numerous Federal-style mansions, as well as the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Rodin Museum. Similarly, Germantown in northwest Philadelphia, is another old residential section, first inhabited by Germans and the Dutch. Many of these eighteenth-century buildings have been handsomely restored. To the south lies Society Hill, the city's original residential area. Today, modern office towers exist side-by-side with the narrow cobblestone streets of Independence Historic National Park, which is home to historic buildings and sights, including the Liberty Bell, Franklin Court, and Independence Hall. Independence Hall, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania A century earlier, William Penn, a prominent Quaker and namesake of Pennsylvania, was a catalyst for the changes that transformed these British colonies into an independent nation. At Independence Hall on July 4, 1776, the Declaration of Independence was adopted, and in September 1787, the Constitution was drafted. Philadelphia is one of America's most important historical cities.

I've tried adjusting the monitor settings: turning high dynamic range off, scaling, color profiles. To be totally clear: this does not happen on the MacBook Pro monitor, but to the externally connected LG 32UD99-W - 4K IPS HDR Monitor I have been using for over a year now.ĭoes anybody else have this problem? And more importantly, have a solution to this bug? Before updating to Catalina I never had this problem. This totally messes up my focus on editing and I can't do color correction on that external monitor: I have no reference whatsoever. It seems to does so whenever I view different shots (that's kinda the whole point in editing that you're viewing shots, right). It automatically adjusts the brightness of the monitor, which results in dimming the brightness and then dialing the brightness up again. When I updated my MacBook Pro to MacOS Catalina my monitor does something weird with the brightness settings while editing in Final Cut. I've been editing on Final Cut Pro X for years with an external monitor connected to my MacBook Pro. MacOS Catalina and connected monitor brightness changes with Final Cut Pro X Hi all, I found it difficult to get access to all of them individually, they seem to be tied to the presets. I cannot explain which of the above settings were critical to the solution. Sharpness: 50 (although I increased this to the max, 100, without getting any flickering) I honestly don't know what it means but the configurations of this preset are: Select Picture and change the picture preset to ECO. Solution: This fix was not in OSX but in the Sceptre onscreen settings changes. The solution was found while running Monterey. The OSX version did not seem to matter as I experienced this across Mojave, Catalina, Big Sur and Monterey. This is not so much a question, I just wanted to share a very specific solution to this issue in case others experience it. Sound modes are varied, allowing you to listen to music, movies or sports with well-balanced equaliser presets. Beyond this you can control other items from lighting and heating, to getting weather reports or checking your commute. But this feature isn’t just for control of your smart home it will let you control the soundbar too.Īt its most basic, Alexa enables you to switch the input with your voice, but you can also change pre-set audio modes such as Movie or Sport using your voice. The big sell here is the Amazon Alexa smart assistant integration. Related: Best multi-room speakers Polk Command Bar – Features Although the Polk is made to be low profile, there’s a fair bit of tech to cram into its housing. Of course, you can wall-mount the Command Bar, too, but it’s more hassle and juts out from the wall. As such, setup is as simple as placing the bar in front of your TV. The slender design of the Command Bar means the speaker is slim enough at 2 inches high to sit beneath your TV without blocking the line of sight. The speaker announces when updates are needed, begins downloading – with a purple ring denoting so – before it’s complete. That said, the light ring is a good way to show that updates are in progress. It works well on a smart speaker, but can prove distracting watching a movie. So for those who already own an Echo Dot, that ring of light will brighten when you call on Alexa, so you know you’re being listened to. The central controls offer buttons for volume, power, Alexa and muting, and also that now familiar light ring you’ll find on any Amazon Alexa-powered speaker. The stand-out feature here is the Amazon Dot-style circular centrepiece. This isn’t Sonos Beam level attractive, but this is reflected in the Command Bar’s price. The subwoofer features a matte black layer, too, to help it blend in. It’s long, sleek and black, with a material finish. So do you need this over a more affordable soundbar? And is this a sound system that’s worth buying for those that already have an Amazon Echo device? But now you can also control your wider smart home from the comfort of your sofa, using your voice. It means you get all the usual positives of a soundbar, including enhanced voice and bass quality to improve TV audio, as well as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi support for playing your music. This includes soundbars, as both the Polk Command Bar and the Sonos Beam offer the Amazon Alexa smart assistant built-in. These days, any speaker that can’t be activated via voice command is considered outdated. The Ins and Outs of Endmills for Aluminum The hobbyist will find these to be perfect, however, and the wide range of sizes and lower price makes them a great way to learn. Of course, these are high-speed steel which is a great material but for those looking to use their endmills on a daily basis, these might not make the cut. This set has six pieces which range from 1/8” to ½” (see full specs) and should be able to meet most people’s needs. Ball nose pieces are quite easy to work with and we strongly recommend working with a 2-flute mill when it comes time to dig into some aluminum. While they might seem a little bit expensive at first glance, this is actually a great set of end mills for beginners. Give it a shot, especially if you only have a couple of specific tasks you need to get done. This end mill has a center cutting type with a right-hand cutting direction. This particular set comes with six pieces, all of the end mills have shank diameters of 3/8”. If you’re still in a position where you’re working with the absolute basics then something like this six-piece set makes sense. The beginner doesn’t always need a whole range of differing mills and frankly the costs start to get pretty high when you’re looking at sets. Little Machine Shop End Mill Set, 6 Piece 2 Flute These are among the best endmills for an aluminum period. Think of it as adding a bit of steel capability for when you need it and you’ll see why we’re so pleased to present this kit. While we don’t recommend using the 4-flute mills for aluminum, the cost of the entire set would be great even if you only got the ten 2-flutes (see full specs) and you’re sure to be happy with this set. There’s also a wide range of different shanks for the individual pieces, meaning that each is sized properly for the width of the bit you’ll be using. Little Machine Shop Endmill Set, 20 pieces 2 & 4 Flute, TiN coated HSSĬoming with 10 2-flute end mills in a single box and fantastic titanium based coating to keep the friction coefficient to a minimum, this is a fantastic set for nearly anyone. A Hickson Compact Group, HCG 62 is at a distance of 200 Mly from Earth ( redshift 0.0137) and possesses a large central elliptical galaxy. Virgo possesses several galaxy clusters, one of which is HCG 62. Because of this, astronomers used several Cepheid variables in NGC 4639 to calibrate type Ia supernovae as standard candles for more distant galaxies. Its outer arms have a high number of Cepheid variables, which are used as standard candles to determine astronomical distances. NGC 4639 is a face-on barred spiral galaxy located 78 Mly from Earth (redshift 0.0034). It is located about 10° due west of Spica. A noted galaxy that is not part of the cluster is the Sombrero Galaxy (M104), an unusual spiral galaxy. The sun-like star 61 Virginis has three planets: one is a super-Earth and two are Neptune-mass planets. The star Chi Virginis has one of the most massive planets ever detected, with a mass of 11.1 times that of Jupiter. The star 70 Virginis has one of the first known extrasolar planetary systems with one confirmed planet 7.5 times the mass of Jupiter. Together with Spica and Theta Virginis, they form a Y shape. The 7 main stars of Virgo form 2 distinct star patterns: Beta, Gamma, Delta, Epsilon and Eta Virginis form an asterism known as " The Bowl of Virgo". Other fainter stars that were also given names are ζ Virginis (Heze), η Virginis (Zaniah), ι Virginis (Syrma), κ Virginis (Kang), λ Virginis (Khambalia) and φ Virginis (Elgafar). From the 18th century to the 4th century BC, the Sun was in Libra on the autumnal equinox, shifting into Virgo thereafter. This is one of the two points in the sky where the celestial equator crosses the ecliptic (the other being the first point of Aries, now in the constellation of Pisces). ĭue to the effects of precession, the first point of Libra, (also known as the autumn equinox point) lies within the boundaries of Virgo very close to β Virginis. The bright star Spica makes it easy to locate Virgo, as it can be found by following the curve of the Big Dipper/Plough to Arcturus in Boötes and continuing from there in the same curve ("follow the arc to Arcturus and speed on to Spica"). It is located in the third quadrant of the Southern Hemisphere (SQ3) and can be seen at latitudes between +80° and -80°. From 1990 and until 2062, this will take place from September 16 to October 30. As the largest zodiac constellation, the Sun takes 44 days to pass through it, longer than any other. Virgo is prominent in the spring sky in the Northern Hemisphere, visible all night in March and April. Virgo can be easily found through its brightest star, Spica. Underlying these technical two definitions, the sun passes directly overhead of the equator, within this constellation, at the September equinox. The ecliptic intersects the celestial equator within this constellation and Pisces. Between Leo to the west and Libra to the east, it is the second-largest constellation in the sky (after Hydra) and the largest constellation in the zodiac.
